Contact Lens Fittings
Contact lenses are a wonderful alternative to spectacles. They can offer you freedom to wear sunglasses or ski goggles on a very occasional basis, or they can be used for wearing most days.
Contact lenses are available for almost any kind of prescription. We have corrective options for people who have:
- Short sightedness (myopia)
- Long sightedness (hyperopia)
- Astigmatism (power on an angle)
- Progressive lenses (different distance and near corrections)
- Only reading lenses for over 40 year old eyes (presbyopia)
Many people can obtain a great balance between their glasses and contacts lenses – if you don’t know if contact lenses are right for you, it’s worth making a time to chat with Tui about this to establish what might work best in your situation.
Orthokeratology is also available at Central Vision Optometry. This procedure involves wearing a specially fitted rigid gas permiable lens overnight, which gently reshapes the cornea. The beauty of this system is that you have the freedom of no spectacles or contact lenses during the day.
Here is what professional long distance triathlete Simone Maier has to say about orthoK: “yehaaaa these are the best contact lenses i’ve ever had, I put them in during the night, take them out in the morning and booommmmm I can see like wearing glasses or contacts but I don’t amazzzinggggg !!!
Pretty awesome because I can’t loose contacts anymore during the day isn’t it great !!!
Thanks Central Vision Optometry Wanaka you guys are awesome awesome awesome!!!”
At Central Vision Optometry we have access to trial lenses of the new, high oxygen coloured contact lenses – meaning you can try a stunning new eye colour for FREE.
We follow the recommended protocol in New Zealand of contact lens patients being required to have their eyes checked every 12 months to ensure safe and accurate usage.
