Specialised testing for an aviation oculo-visual assessment is only available though certain optometrists who have completed additional training.

This testing can be done by Tui or Katie Bennetts at Central Vision Optometry, right here in Wanaka, at our clinic at the Wanaka Lakes Health Centre. The Civil Aviation Authority testing involves a full vision test, colour testing, ocular motor function, as well as a gonioscopy and a dilated fundus exam.
If you’d like to arrange a Civil Aviation Authority test, please contact us to make an appointment. Please be sure to state your requirements, as these unique tests require a full hour. Please note that you will also require a driver, or alternative transport, following the assessment.
